I installed Xp on my computer and I had the same problem. My scanner would not install
on XP with my old software. To be able to reinstall my HP Scanner " HP 4200c " I
had to order HP precision Scan LT software/Driver for the ScanJet 4200c Series, Version
2.0.3 that will install with XP. I installed the full version,which had HP System
Diagnostic on it. It helped me to get rid of this annoying problem. Check out HP
website, and you can get this Software off of the Internet. It helped me and I hope
that this will help some one else.
