In XP-sp2 a simpler way to do this is just to search Registry for ‘Recycle Bin’ and
Modify (right click etc) the string settings (REG_SZ) to your preference. (Far as
I can see the REG_SZs are merely what the machine uses to communicate with humans
and have no role in what it does in itself.) But n.b. use that helpful CLSID # to
check that you are hitting the right spot. In my (new, cleanish) installation there
were only three of these label settings for the dumpster itself. So they probably
:-) control the labels on the Desktop and in the left- and right-column listings
of Desktop folders - at least those have all three changed for me.

I may or may not go back and change the wording of the strings for ‘Empty Recycle
Bin’. It’s good to be in charge.

Thanks for the reminder about TweakUI; haven’t installed the new version yet but
it should make this discussion redundant.
