Just as an other suggestion or alternative:

First: Switch to Outlook instead of Outlook Express.

There are additional features you may want to take advantage of such as a scheduler
etc. Then download SpamBayes for Outlook, You can find it here:
http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/windows.html

Before you install it collect a bunch of what you consider to be spam and put it
in a new folder called Spam. For a comparison, be sure to have email messages that
you like/want to keep, stored in other folders so that SpamBayes will learn what
you like and don't like. SpamBayes is easy to train and it's free.

Once you have collected a pretty good quantity of Spam. Install SpamBayes and follow
the instructions carefully.

As a result, Spam is no longer an issue for me. I just open Outlook and wait until
SpamBayes is finished and handle the good messages. It's fun just watching them disappear
automatically ! Oh, every once in a while, select all messages in the "Spam folder"
and delete them without a second thought.

I would also recomend turning off the "pre-view" window for the Inbox / Spam folder
or any other window where it really isn't necessary in order to assist in preventiion
of virus infestation.

Good Luck
Jan
