I recently installed a Logitech optical mouse on my Dell Inspiron which seems to
be the reason for getting the error upon shutdown so after reading all of the suggestions
here I uninstalled the Logitech Desktop Manager software, which notifies you when
updates are available for the hardware, and the problem went away. Just my two cents...
