dsktp icons/tskbr-systry not showing up

aight, i was just doin "normal" things and rebooted, but then after reboot my desktop
didnt show up. my wallpaper is there but none of my icons or taskbar/sys tray are
there. i also get an MS windows error and asks we if i want to send to MS, this happens
a prolly 15 seconds after my wallpaper comes up.
i can only access/run programs by hittin ctrl-alt-del then run from the menu. i just
scanend w/ adaware & hijackthis, buttin found. im thinking my desktop file is missin/corrupted.
in fact, i just thought of sumpin, in xp pro, doesnt c:\windows need a desktop. file?
if i copy the one from c:/docs/settings/admin/app data will that work since i use
admin?
