This should fix your problem, but it may be dagerous if you are not careful. This
utility clears the configuration data that was left by a previous installation of
something.
- Find the Support Tools on the Windows CD in the Support\Tools folder.
- Install these tools
- Run Msicuu.exe: Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. You can run it from the 'Support
Tools Help' page, just scroll down to Msicuu.exe, and click it. In the upper right
corner, there is an option to run the tool.
- Follow the instructions
If you cant find the Support Tools on your CD, you can get this one from my web
page at
www.theblattners.com/tools/msiFix.zip
You'll need both .exe files included in the Zip file, and make sure you read the
ReadMe.txt file first.
You need to know what installation failed that is causing the installer to appear
everytime you start an executible.
DO NOT just start clearing stuff as this would be bad.
Hope this helps!
