System Restore is pretty worthless anyway: What happens if your computer is unbootable? No way you'll be ably to use System Restore. What happens even if Interne tExplorer is badly broken? Since System Restore uses IE to display its windows, SR is worthless.

The reason to disable it is to prevent the scanners from finding--and being unable to repair--malware in your restore points. In addition, the restore points are rather useless to you unless you wish to go through the removal again, as they are also infected.
