The Fix...
Ok, there is some good (and bad) info on these posts.
This problem is due to a 'Trojan Horse' virus that will probably not show-up when
you do a scan.
However, you do not want to simply delete or disable the spoolsv.exe as you will
not be able to use your printer without this process. Also, if you have already
deleted it trying a quick fix you will need to go to your recycle bin and restore
the process.
Here is what you do, in two steps:
Start=>Run=>regedit
Edit=>Find=>backdoor.ciadoor.b.html
when this item is found, highlight it by single click and hit the delete key, ok
(yes remove the bugger).
F3, continue to search the regedit but only one occurance should be found.
close all=>reboot
Now that you are back and the trojan is cleared out of you registry you will need
to clean out your print and image ques.
I am using XP, but get to your printer list however...
Start=>Control Panel=>Printers and other Hardware=>View Installed Printers or Fax
Printers
double click on each printer or fax and highlight & delete and documents that may
be waiting in the que.
You might want to be try rebooting once again, but this is not really necessary.
Now you should be fine and the problem should be solved.
You can verify this by right clicking your bottom task bar and selecting 'Task Manager'.
Look at the middle Performance tab and the CPU utilization should no longer be at
or near 100%.
