I suppose you could run msconfig once it's loaded to see if the convert command is being set to run. For ease, I would go to Mike Lin's Page and get his Startup Control Panel app and run it - it would seem that if the convert command is being set to run, it would run as "Run once" item. If so, uncheck the box by it and cross your fingers and try a reboot.
