I too am having problems. My host computer uses windows xp. I have a laptop that I need to fix and need to have internet access to it. It only has a dialup modem on it, and I only have ethernet and a 4 port router.

On the back of my router it has a printer port and the same with the laptop. so I tried that. it wouldnt work. So I plugged the laptop into the back of my pc to see if I could get it to read that way, no go. I have tried every setting. The laptop uses windows 98. its a 199 MHz Compaq Armada 7730MT. I need help please. if anyone can email me, plz do at xxd347hxx@comcast.net
