File association won't stick ?!

I have a question about Change a file association on the fly:

I am trying to associate file type ".crw" with the application Phase One Capture One. I right-click on a crw file and select Open With. The Capture One application is not listed, so I select "Choose Program." The application is not listed under either "Recommended Programs" or "Other Programs", so I click the Browse button, and browse to the location of the application. I select the application, "captureone.exe", and push the open button. Now the strange and mysterious part: after this, the application still does not appear listed under "Recommended Programs" or "Other Programs" in the Open With box! No matter what I try, I have been unable to make the association.

I have even reinstalled the Capture One application, which made no difference.

Can anyone help?
