No signal on the monitor Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 1:10 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by IKE (96 messages posted) My daughter owns a Dell Dimension 4600. The computer had become so unstable that she decided to format and re-install Windows using the OS Installation CD. During the process the computer went into sort of a continuous loop displaying a message saying something like” the installation process is being restarted” and the computer turned off and self restarted endlessly again and again. Trying to cope with the problem, I tried to format the PC the using the floppy Installation diskettes. I inserted the first of the six diskettes and restarted the PC but then the monitor went totally blank as if there was no PC attached to it. The monitor is fine; I checked it with another computer. I also checked all the connections and the cables but the problem still remains there’s no signal on the monitor. The OS is Windows XP. Please I need help and would much appreciate step by step instructions.
