It sounds like, in your case, it might not be the same kind of timing problem that
seems to be at issue for many of us.

Someone is maintaining a list of things that people report working for this issue
there. Not much there that hasn't already been said in this thread, but one suggestion
on that page jumps out as something that might be worth trying in your case -- the
program SysTrayHack...
