I tried what was mentioned, (performance settings) and although it has worked 
in the past, this time it didn't work for me.

However, this did! :)

Disable active desktop.

Right click blank area of desktop => click properties => 
Desktop tab => click Customize Desktop => Web Tab

Make sure all items listed in the box are unchecked.
