1) Goto your task manager (press Ctrl-Alt-Del), goto the "Processes" tab, then make
sure that the spysheriff is not running. If it is, then end the process.
2) Goto "Add remove programs" in the control panel, and remove the "SpySheriff" program.
(If it says that it cannot uninstall, then you still have it open somewhere. It will
uninstall once it's not running.
**At this point you may want to run a spyware program to remove the resident stuff
on your machine. This is not required though.
3) Install Spybot S&D. Open Spybot S&D, and click the "Tools" button located on the
left side of the screen.
4) Click "System Startup" (also on the left), find a value called "Tsa2," and/or
"winstall.exe" disable the checkboxes to the left of each of these which are resident.
Quit out of Spybot.
5) Goto "run" in the Start menu, and run "Regedit" (without quotes).
6) Click on the folder named "HKEY_Current_USER", goto "edit" and do a find for "ActiveDesktop"
7) Once you find the "ActiveDesktop" folder, right click on it, and select "rename".
Rename it to anything you like, I prefer to add a few x's to the front and back of
the word. (i.e. xxxactivedesktopxxx). BE SURE THAT YOU ONLY RENAME THE ACTIVEDESKTOP
FOLDER.
Cool Do a search in regedit for "desktop.html", delete the entry that you find.
9) Quit out of regedit
10) you should now be able to change your desktop background back to whatever you
had it set at before this annoying program did it's thing.
11) Re-boot your machine.
