My 3 year old NEC Versa Premium laptop has this problem too! "Standby" & "Hibernate" worked fine to start with, and then one day the "Standby" button was shaded (at the "Turn Off Computer" prompt) and there was no longer a "Hibernate" tab in "Control Panel/Power Options". I have not been able to find a Microsoft patch that works with SP2, or any other sort of fix anywhere. Does anyone know a solution?
