My customer tells me that his PC modem just stopped working a couple of days ago. Modem diagnostics produce only an error message saying that the COM port is in use by another program. When I checked the Winxp Home device manager there were no COM ports shown at all. Any ideas anyone? I am currently checking for Viruses and Adware. Customer has a comprehensive McAfee security software installation. Any suggestions gratefull received.
