ERROR: Computer boots to a blank screen
CAUSE:
boot files corrupted
SOLUTION:
Boot up into the blank screen
1. Press ctrl+alt+delete, and then click on Task Manager
2. On the File menu, click New Task (run).
3. Type cmd.exe, and then press Enter.
4. Change the directory to C:\Winnt\System32
5. Rename the Shdocvw.dll file by typing ren shdocvw.dll shdocvw.old and hit enter.
6. repeat step 5 with the following files
a. Browseui.dll
b. Comctl32.dll
c. Comdlg32.dll
d. Mlang.dll
e. Ole32.dll
f. Oleaut32.dll
g. Shell32.dll
h. Shlwapi.dll
I. Urlmon.dll
j. Wininet.dll
k. Setupapi.dll
