How to fix permissions on files in XP? Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 12:44 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Bruce Miller (7 messages posted) My computer crumped but had everythign backed up on exteranal HDs. Now there are still some files that I can not access on the new machine. "DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION" or Access or rights. Reconnected the extranal HD on new machine and 99% works, but some files I can not seem to access. Trying the change effective permisisons does not work on some. These are all my files that I created now Bill Gates and crew are protecting me against myself with the ^$#@^*(*#)* security crap and I can not acces my own data.
