You can use search companion to look for big files. Leave the file name and the
"word or phrase" fields blank. Check the "Large" box under "What size is it?".
Also go to the "More advanced options" and check "Search system folders", "Search
hidden files and folders", and of course "Search subfolders".

Some log files, like the omnipresent index.dat files that many Microsoft programs
create, can just be deleted. A new one will be created. If you should happen to
delete the cookies log file, you may have to log in to the forums etc, that used
to log you in automatically. So remember your passwords :)

By the way, those index.dat files, etc. are often in use so you can't simply delete
them in the ordinary way. This would include many files in the "Documents and Settings\(username)"
folders. One easy way to delete these is to log in as another user. In XP pro,
you should be able to log in as administrator. I'm not familiar with XP home.
