Thank you for your rapid reply. I have to admit to feeling a little foolish... but not alot. Enter 'Control Panel' / 'Sound Devices'. Click on the voices tab, click on test hardware. This will first test your mic, then the playback. You will see 2 volume control sildes. One for 'recording level', and one for 'playback level'. Click through to the playback test and adjust the volume slide. Click 'Finish' and your done. I can only believe I contracted a virus, but I had completed an update and virus scan mer minutes prior to this problem. No rest for the wicked. lol. Again thank you. Kieth
