I myself think the statement was (sorry) a little unclear...

"Step 2 ('Choose the View tab, and turn off the Do not cache thumbnails option.') 
was simply unclear to most English speaking readers...

It would've been much less CONFUSING if it had simply stated: "Choose the View tab, 
and CHECK the 'Do not cache thumbnails' to turn off thumbnail caching...".
