XP OPERATING SYSTEM
It would be a lot easier to do this the other way around. Which computer, make and
model, are you using? How big is the hard-drive and what other drive specifications
can you give? Is it already partitioned and is it formatted to FAT32 or to NTFS.
(Look in Disk Mangement for the answer there.)
I have an 80 GB drive running at 7,200 rev/min with an 8 MB drive cache, partitioned
into four sections. You can get bigger faster drives with bigger drive-caches, but
this will do.
Drive C: is the Primary partition and is 10 GB in size. Windows XP US English is
installed on this drive.
The rest of the drive consists of an Extended partition divided into three Logical
drives.
Drive D: is the first of these and is also 10 GB in size. Windows XP French version
is installed on this drive, and I can choose which operating system to use when the
computer is first starting up.
Drive E: holds documents, music and images common to both operating systems.
Drive F: is an Archive and Backup drive also common to both oerating systems.
Click on the XP link above download and install Everest Home to find the size and
model number of the drive. You can check your processor and other temperatures with
this program and see what the fan speeds are as well.
You might not have to re-format if you can simply re-partition, but you need plenty
of space to be able to do this, so how big is the drive and how much free-space is
left?
