Well, the problem has been solved. As Ken pointed out in step 3)
Afterward, Don't change folder settings and "Apply to all folders".
In other words DO NOT CLICK |Apply to All Folders| after having adjusted the view
of either Explorer or the My Documents folder. This is kind of counterintuitive isn't
it?. But not really surprising, coming from Microsoft...
