I have an even stranger situation... I have 5 PC's all running XP Pro. All on same Workgroup yada yada. Was running Shared internet Connection over dial-up through Comp1, all connected through switch. Workgroup and Internet worked fine on all but Comp4 which networked fine, but would not connect to shared connection. /// Had Broadband installed-- disabled shared connection. Now use switch and router; Comp1,2,3,4 through switch, Comp5 to router, router connected to switch. Router as DHCP, all systems dynamic IP. Now, Comp1,3,4,5 connect to both Internet and network, but Comp2 connects to Internet, but not network. I have tried the Network Setup Wizard several times, to no avail. All 5 show in "view workgroup computers" 1,3,4,5 can interconnect, but when 2 attempts to connect to any other, or any other attempts to connect to 2, recieve "May not have permission to view this network resource..." message. All 5 can ping each other and themselves with no errors. There is no change with all firewalls up or down (win on all and Norton on 1,2,4). This has been the case with no change for 3 weeks, even with trying. All of a sudden, this morning, Comp1 has began acting identically to Comp2. ????????????? With no changes (that I am aware of.) The one who used the system this morning would not have known how to change anything anyway, and not inclined, nor had time. My knowledge has been extremely surpassed and I am out of ideas. Pyro MO
