Here's a fix I came across somewhere (I can't
remember where). This is for WinXP Pro. Instructions
assume you are using the default view settings.
1. Open My Network Places.
2. On the left click "Hide icons for networked UPnP
devices." This does not disable such devices, it just
hides the icons.
3. Rejoice that the solution was that simple.
