I have Maxthon installed on my system, but after putting it through its paces as
my exclusive browser for a couple months, I now use it only for those web sites that
require IE to view. Even though Maxthon has added features that mitigate the IE drawbacks
some, it's still using IE as its rendering engine, which means it is vulnerable to
the viruses, trojans, and other hacks that use the IE weaknesses to exploit your
system.
I use Mozilla as my primary browser (I used to use Firefox and Thunderbird, but discovered
that I used fewer resources opening one program than opening two), and so I do not
have the vulnerabilities that any browser using the IE rendering engine has. That
alone makes any browser using the Mozilla core superior to any browser using the
IE core, even if you don't take into account the open source, collaborative development,
and active community supporting Mozilla and its associated projects.
