I came home last night to find my computer running a little slow from the 9.11 version of limewire. So I could not shut down properly and just had to flick the button and do a manual restart. When the computer rebooted, it was stuck in the 'WELCOME' screen fro 30 seconds - then goes to the desktop. Here is the problem: I have no desktop icons, no start button and no 'bar' at the bottom. Its just my desktop picture and thats it! The only way I can run programs is using the Task Manager and run new tasks (thats how im on the net now) - I took of limewire (thought that could of caused the problem) I have checked for viruses and spybots, did a disk defrag and error checking on the hard drive - None of this has worked! Can someone help me get my desktop back without reformatting?? Thank you Will
