The slowdown started after the software install, and when connecting with it you
have freezing
Personally I would suspect a buggy program, or some intruder that slipped in shortly
after the install of the connection
I would try connecting without the ISP software and run a few anti-spyware apps
What are you using for anti-virus and firewall protection?
