re: sound device error Friday, September 9, 2005 at 11:30 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by will (1 messages posted) Hi There I have just downloaded C-Media AC97 Audio Device from Windows Update. Right after it, my sound stopped working. I tried reinstalling my original sound driver from my CD, but it did not have any effect at all. There is no error message of any sort. According to my computer, my sound driver is working perfectly, and I double checked the cable connections to make sure that everything is in place. Everything is working as it should be, except there is just no sound coming out of my speaker. Any help is appreciated. I am using Windows XP SP2, and just ran the latest update.
