Falcon's Malware Removal

Follow these steps:

  • Go to Start Menu, Run. Type the following path in the text box and click on OK: %SystemRoot%\INF
  • Locate the file IE.INF (not IE.PNF), right-click on it and select Install.
  • Insert your Windows XP CD if you don't have a source path (created by the OEM) on your hard disk.
  • If Windows asks you for a path, try the following: %SYSTEMROOT%\ServicePackFiles\i386 -or- (CD drive letter):\I386 -or- %SYSTEMROOT%\I386
"i386" could not be applicable to 64bit Windows XP. Replace if necessary.

This procedure had caused problems because I hadn't specified the paths mentioned here.
