No problem!

This same thing happened to me out of the blue on several customer sites in a row. 
 In each case, I was setting up Acronis True Image v8 as the backup utility and directing 
it to back up to external HDDs connected to one of the computers.

In my case I was made aware of the solution by scouring the Event Viewer, but then 
later on I discovered that it was a FAQ at the Acronis support site.
