by playing around with the registry stuff around the registry settings from other
people, I sort of figured out how to fix this for all explorer windows without customizations.
(note: i'll be calling both windows explorer and internet explorer by "explorer":
technically, they are the same thing, anyway) you will be editing the registry: you
will need some experience with editing the registry to do this. 1. browse to HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\shell\bagMRU
(btw, if anyone uses "HKCU" with the registry, they're referring to HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
"HKLM" is HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE) 2. See what it says under NodeSlot in the right pane,
and note the number in parentheses. I'm not entirely sure because i've only tested
this on my own computer, but i'm guessing that the number should be "1." 3. Navigate
to HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\shell\bags 4. look for the folder (on the left
pane) that has the number you just noted (probably 1) and expand it. 5. navigate
to the "desktop" folder under it, and change the "status" (on the right pane) to
ffffffff. 6. navigate to HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\shellnoroam\bags and do
steps 4-5 again Sorry if it doesn't work, I know I did a few more things before I
actually did this fix so i'm not entirely certain if this is exactly everything you
have to do to fix it. but i'm pretty sure that it involves a lot of the bagmru editing.
sorry the breaks aren't in there, but this stupid forum apparently has no idea how
to parse a fcking line break into html.
