I have a question about Getting
Network Neighborhood to recognize newly attached computers:
I read thru 20+ questions about this topic but still didnt find an awnser so ill
just ask.
i have a house with 4 PCs. 3 have windows xp the other has 98. i can go into my network
places, double click the PCs and browse to my hearts content. Evryone else can also
do the same... except browse MY pc.
i have enabled the netbios and tcp protocols.. changed hexadecimals in regedit to
allow anonymous logins and still nothing seems to work. it just gives that fantasticly
(real word?) common error " //pcname is not accessible, you may not have permission,
contact admin" blah blah blah.
If anyone can help me out i would appreciate it, as its been months and i still cant
get to my pc from anyone elses without using VNC or some other lame workaround.
Thanks.
