Well, I seemed to have fixed it. I got tired of always doing the workaround, so
restored my computer to an earlier time (a few days earlier), then uninstalled both
the McAfee virus scan and Adaware. Restarted my computer. Everything was fine,
all icons there, etc. Then I reinstalled McAfee & Adaware, restarted, and everything
was normal. All icons showed up like they were supposed to. I restarted over and
over and never lost the icons from the taskbar.
