To get the Recycle Bin to your Quick Launch menu, undo the Registry change (just change the value to zero, you don't have to delete the key), then when you get your Desktop back drag a shortcut of the Recycle Bin to Quick Launch. Then re-modify the Registry NoDesktop key again if you want.
