I think I accidently deleted my sound device when trying to clean up my computer
in control panel. Since then whenever I try and play a song in Media player it says:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound
device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be
in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.
I have since been to control panel and clicked on 'sound & audio devices' it simply
says i don't have an audio device. I got downloaded 'mutimedia audio controller'
from the dell website and when I try and install it, it says:
'The hardware was not installed because wizard can not find the necessary software'
I'm so lost! I have no CD for it, but if thats what I need I have access to them.
I have XP as well. Please help!
