Ouch! Do I have to try to find more crud in the registry? I rebooted, and they were back. I was inspired to try what I did by a comment in the Microsoft Knowledge Base about the FixCSS.exe you have to grovel to MS to get. There's a comment about crud in the registry. So I found it and deleted it. I was about to do a clean re-install anyway.
