Actually it depends on the school, mine has an agreement with the MSDN to allow free
access to windows XP and server 2003 among other things
You can get them on a CD instead of a downloadable ISO and IIRC it is about $10-12
shipping included
The marketing aspect is actually quite inventive, give your stuff to a student and
what are they likely to recommend in the workplace?
It isn't going to work on me but I can see it working on a less experienced user
