It sound like you're talking about your temporary Internet files.
Your image viewer is not saving these files, Internet Explorer is. To get rid of
them Open IE, click Tools, then select Internet Options. In the temporary Internet
Files section, click on "delete files."
It's also a good idea to delete cookies and clear history once in a while too.
