cannot click on desktop- Virus?

In spite of anti virus software, I think I got one.
Computer boots to desktop, but then I cannot click on any icon. I tried doing a restore
and finally got it to where I could instal and run a virus scan program. It found
31 infections and removed them. This morning I have the same problem. Tried to restore
and was unable. Computer is on a network and I can get toand see all files on the
hard drive on the "infected" machine from another computer on the network.
Will appreciate any other ideas.
