It is XP Pro and simple file sharing is enabled through local security policy. I
believe it is "Network Access: File and print sharing model" and you can select
Classic or windows XP. Classic is each user authenticates as themselves (simple file
sharing) windows xp is authenticate as guest. We are set for each user to authenticate
as themselves. The user accounts are identicle on both systems.

The path is c:\data

If file sharing isn't complicated I don't think I could have made it any easier :)

Data has the hand under it indicating it is shared. Permissions are set correctly.

The problem is not that I Can't see the folder. If I type in lets say

192.168.1.1\data I can see the folder but if I open
mynetwork places and then attempt to open work group or select "show workgroup computeres"
then nothing shows up it eventualy times out and says I don't have permission to
view the network. which I know isn't correct.
