Sunday, November 6, 2005 at 8:39 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by doug forest (1 messages posted) microsoft offers 4 solutions for the 'my computer' long delay problem(which is caused by the KB905749 security update) --- http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=819017 --- it only slightly cured the problem for me. it fixed the delay, but not the device manager (which was still blank). out of frustration i did a system restore before that patch was released and im flying now! i'm a video editor and my video playback was totally screwed up/sluggish/choppy, i was loosing my mind. i seriously thought it was a virus... never thought it was because of billy boy & his merry men. my computer is now trying to re-install the security patch again.......
