Nov 07, 2005 - same problem here - I've run the WindowsXP repair twice - still a
problem. I've stopped almost all services, rebooted - still a problem. The machine
is usable if I go into the TaskManager and choose c:\windows\explorer.exe as the
new task. I can run anything that way, (keeping TaskManager minimized), but as soon
as I log out or re-boot the problem re-appears. After searching on the internet
a LONG time, it may be that a common denominator is Norton Anti-Virus. Is there
some incompatiblity between that and the last Microsoft update?
