I have the same problem: when clicking volume control, a message window appears "There
are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel
click Printers and other Hardware (sic) and the click Add Hardware".
Open Volume control is suggested to get sound back onto the computer - mine worked
till I started messing with msconfig/startup - since then it does not make any sound
:( Any help much appreciated.
Note: Control Panel / Add Hardware does not find anything to install. When looking
at Sound in the device manager, no problems with any device.
Thanks for your help!!!
