re: [SOLVED] by removing: Microsoft Security Update KB905749 Monday, November 14, 2005 at 6:14 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Monte (3 messages posted) Removing that Knowledge Base update is fairly straight-forward. Open the Control Panel Open "Add or Remove Programs" Place a tick mark in the box at the top that says "Show Updates" Scroll down the list of programs and updates until you find KB905749. Double check you have selected ONLY this update to uninstall. Click "uninstall" and follow the prompts. You will most likely get a serious looking screen saying that most of your programs and system resources will not work if you continue with the uninstall. There will be a list of those programs. Click through this, authorizing the uninstall process to continue. Reboot when prompted.
