I've done that on a number of keyboards because I lost a lot of work to inadventent
Overtype mode... then I got Sharpkeys from http://www.randyrants.com/ (freeware)
and remapped the Insert key to do nothing... and F12 to be Insert for the few times
I need it. This is reversable and works on all of Windows. (You can remap other
keys, too, but this is the only one I wanted...)
