I had the simliar problem with spyware. I fixed it due to your helpful post. I am
very grateful!
All other fixes didn't help fix 'My Computer' load time or the empty Device Manager.
Seems this spyware put currupt regkeys into my registry and device manager couldnt
load up.
I also found some good software on the search for a fix.
RootkitRevealer v1.56
Scan your system for rootkit-based malware
Also I used AproposFix v1.
Look below for results.
