After spending an hour with Dell support and a couple more with Microsoft with no
results, I followed your instructions using AproposFix.exe. Thank you so very much!
In less than a minute, the problem was fixed and device manager came back. I had
tried the Symantec uninstaller earlier with the Microsoft tech but it did not fix
the problem. Thanks again!
