re: context plus removal worked! thanks Friday, November 25, 2005 at 12:12 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by samantha (1 messages posted) hi guys, got the wonderful empty device manager yesterday, after not really doing anything at all to trigger it off. all hardware was non-existant, but suprisingly the sound was still going. anyway, i found this awesome forum and after trying everything from tampering with the registry, to removing the kb905749 update, nothing worked. it turns out all i needed to do was delete contextplus!! i dont know why this did it, as it had been in my system for a while but nothing had happened. so THANK YOU for all the help, and thanks especially to grish for supplying the answer. ..... and once again my favourite oxymoron comes to fruition: MICROSOFT WORKS!!!! bloody microsoft, picking on defenceless 16yo computer nerds. cheers! = ) Written in response to: re: Glad to see that apropos fix is working for so many!
